The apparatus includes a self-propelled carriage having a push/pull bar, and a heating assembly carried by the carriage and powered by the power supply. Th e heating assembly includes a fan that blows ambient air over a heating elemen t to generate a heated airflow sufficient to fuse the roofing membranes to one another. A nozzle is coupled to the heating assembly and a pair of outer channels with an elevated center channel disposed therebetween. A variable pressure roller assembly is also coupled to the carriage and has a pair of outer rollers and a spring-biased center roller disposed therebetween. The spring-biased roller is aligned with the elevated channel and passes over th e protruding fastener so as to form a substantially continuous width seam exce pt where interrupted by the protruding fastener. |
