According to the invetion, said device may be improved over the state of the art by increasing the filter area, for example, the active charcoal effective area and/or the throughflow area for fumes or air without hindering airflow in the exhaust element (20), wherein the filter (30) is designed to blow the filtered fumes as filtered air into the room via at least one outlet area (32, 34, 36, 38) of the filter (30) and at least one dimension of the filter (30) is independent of the dimensions of the exhaust element (20) and the dimensions of the hood (10).
