<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to listen to content which matches preference of the user readily and in a short period of time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A content reproducing apparatus 100 has a managing section 101, a reproducing section 102, a transmitting section 103 and a receiving section 104. The managing section 101 manages a play list which shows a reproducing order of at least one or more content. The reproducing section 102 reproduces the content according to the play list. The transmitting section 103 transmits information of the content under reproduction to a server having a storage means that stores play lists for a plurality of users. The receiving section 104 receives information of candidate content selected by the server based on the information of the play lists for the plurality of users and the information of the content under reproduction.
