IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD AND APPARATUS

PURPOSE: An image processing method which converts 2D video data into a 3D image and an apparatus thereof are provided to output a 3D image from 2D video data by estimating the movement of the current frame while referencing the movement from the next frame. CONSTITUTION: A metadata analyzer(320) extracts shot information from metadata of 2D(Dimensional) video data. The metadata analyzer determines whether the current frame is classified with the previous frame by using shot information. If the current frame is classified with the previous frame, a motion estimator(335) uses one or more frames which are outputted after the current frame. The shot information is classified into one shot by using the previous frame.
