PURPOSE: A collision damage reducing system using both a radar and a camera is provided to detect obstacles without large memory and calculation by changing radar signal processing establishment. CONSTITUTION: A collision damage reducing system for a vehicle comprises followings. A camera part(21) determines whether obstacle exists within a set dangerous area or not through a camera attached to a vehicle. A radar control part(22) determines a first set-up in case the obstacle does not exist within a set dangerous area and determines a second set-up in case the obstacle exists within the set dangerous area. A radar part(20) transmits radar signals according to the set-up of the radar controller and processes radar signals by receiving radar reflective signals. A CDM logic part(23) performs the control for reducing collision damage in case there is collision possibility between the vehicle and the obstacle according to radar signal processing. |
