PURPOSE: A fluorescent paste is provided to enhance discharge efficiency by increasing the discharge of secondary electrons and to reduce the contamination of MgO caused by organic compounds by comprising Mg(OH)2 besides MgO. CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent paste comprises a vehicle mixed with an organic binder and solvent, fluorescent powder and a mixture of MgO and Mg(OH)2. A method for manufacturing a plasma display panel comprises the steps of: preparing a first panel having an address electrode(120), an dielectric layer(130), a partition wall(140), and discharge cells divided by the partition wall and a second panel having a sustain electrode pair, a dielectric layer(190) and a protective film; mixing organic binder and solvent to obtain a vehicle; mixing fluorescent powder and a mixture of MgO and Mg(OH)2 into the vehicle to obtain a fluorescent paste; applying the fluorescent paste within the discharge cell; drying and sintering the fluorescent paste to form a fluorescent within the discharge cell; and attaching the first panel and the second panel.
