PURPOSE: A base assembly for a vacuum cleaner is provided to improve the suction force by removing loss of exhaust air. CONSTITUTION: A base assembly for a vacuum cleaner is composed as follows: A dust collecting vessel(200) has an inlet(211) and an outlet(213). A suction motor assembly(800) has an intake port(833) contacted with the outlet, and an exhaust port. A main body comprises an upper case(150) and a lower case(130). The upper case has a container mounting groove and a motor mounting groove. A downward suction nozzle(131) is formed on the lower case. A rotary brush(170) is installed on the main body to be rotatable. A turbine wing is rotated by air exhausted from the exhaust port. A rotation power transmission member transmits torque of the turbine wing to the rotary brush.
