<p>A topical anesthetic dispenser is releasably attachable to a pre-filled disposable syringe. A clip receives the barrel of the syringe [1], and includes a receptacle portion [27] receiving a pre-filled cannister [31] of a topical numbing agent and includes a generally cylindrical chamber portion receivable within the receptacle portion [29] of the clip and a distal neck portion having an outlet [35] allowing the contents of the cannister to be dispensed. A dispenser attached to the distal neck portion of the cannister includes an elongated flexible tube [51] surrounded by a rigid tube [49] for at least a portion of its length. A pivotable lever [65] carries a tube compressor [63] including a pinching member extending through an opening [61] in the rigid tube [49] and spring biased [71] to a position at which it pinches closed the elongated passageway [52] through the flexible tube.</p> |
