PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method that prevents occurrence of scratch or crack of a photoreceptor due to a separation pawl, improves a separation failure of transfer paper, and provides a good electrophotographic image, and to provide an image forming device using the image forming method. SOLUTION: This image forming method comprises a cylindrical organic photoreceptor, a developing means for forming a toner image on the organic photoreceptor surface, a transferring means for transferring the toner image to transfer paper, and a separating means having a separation pawl for separating the transfer paper from the organic photoreceptor. The surface layer of the organic photoreceptor contains inorganic fine particles, a surface energy reducing agent is supplied to the surface of the organic photoreceptor, the separation pawl is always in contact with the organic photoreceptor, the transfer paper is separated, and an electrophotographic image is formed.
