PURPOSE: A valve opened and closed by a spherical valve member with improved tightness is provided to secure a state, where a sealing ring is closely contacted with a spherical surface of the valve member, when the valve member is located in a closed position by forming an air pocket. CONSTITUTION: A valve comprises a valve body, a valve member(120), a seat(140), and a sealing ring(142). The valve body comprises a first flow path and a second flow path(99). The valve member is located in an open position for connecting the first and second flow paths to each other and in a closed position for blocking connection between the first and second flow paths. In the closed position, the valve member blocks connection between the first and second flow paths. The seat comprises a ring receiving recess(141). When the valve member is located in the closed position, the ring receiving recess is arranged to be pressurized towards a spherical surface(120b). If the valve member is located in the closed position, a tip surface of the sealing ring is contacted with the spherical surface of the valve member. The sealing ring is inserted into the ring receiving recess.
