Wind-power mchines require speed-limitation devices, and existing designs are mechanical, aerodynamic or electrical braking systems, each of which has disadvantages. If a proportion of the air passing a propellor is caughts, upstream or downstream, and ejected through pipes leading to the extremities of the blades, an automatic speed-control is effected. Air enters the admission chamber (3) via a valve (4) arranged in front of or behind the propellor, and is led by internal pipes to ejectin points (5) pointing towards the leading edge of the blades. The ejector diameter is less than that of the pipes. The admission valves (4) can be actuated by centrifugal governor or by separate control devices (electronic, pneumatic or mechanical). The system is applicable to either gaseous or liquid fluids.
|
