The present invention relates to an automatic mechanical percussion device for the munitions of firearms. The device solves the problem of bulkiness and loss of aim associated with pivoting hammers. The mechanism comprises a cylindrical breech (3) into which is introduced a sliding hammer formed by a first pin (4) whose axis coincides with the breech axis and a second pin (5) fixed to the first pin and passing through a breech slot (6) which is significantly remote from the axis of the breech (3); the mechanism comprises indissociably an arrester (9) to allow the cocking movement of the pin (5) and prevent the contrary movement unless the breech (3) has returned to the barrel (2) and its slot (6) has allowed the pin (5) to be pivoted about the axis of the pin (4), thereby releasing the hammer from the constraint imposed by the arrester (9). The device according to the invention is intended nonexclusively for the manufacture of assault rifles. |
