PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an update information creation processing system for document data and image forming apparatus capable of efficiently providing update information to a user, without applying a large load for creation processing of the update information.

SOLUTION: In the update information providing system for document data, a document data storage device 2 and an image forming apparatus 1 are connected via a network 4. The document data storage device 2 selectively creates update information of document data stored in a document data storage means 22 by means of an update information creating means 23a. The image forming apparatus 1 makes a request for acquiring update information of document data to acquire the selectively created update information and displays it on a display means 15a.
