PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidity detector capable of easily discriminating humidity sensor types and appropriately performing processing according to the humidity sensor types. SOLUTION: The humidity detector includes: a switching means; a calculation means; a discrimination means; and a control means. The switching means switches the frequency of an AC voltage applied to the humidity sensor to a first frequency (100 kHz) and a second one (100 Hz) different from the first one (step S70). The calculation means uses a first detection value of the impedance of the humidity sensor at the first frequency and a second detection value of impedance at the second frequency to calculate the difference in impedance (step S90). The discrimination means discriminates the humidity sensor based on the calculated difference in impedance (step S100).
