POWER TRANSMITTING DEVICE

A power transmitting device capable of more reliably transmitting power.  This is achieved without an increase in the size and production cost of the device.  The power transmitting device is provided with a sun gear (41) rotationally driven about the axis of the sun gear (41), planetary gears (44) meshing with the sun gear (41) through gear sections (44a) and supported so as to be able to rotate about their own axes and so as to be able to revolve about the axis of the sun gear (41), a first ring gear (42) meshing with the planetary gears (44) through an inner peripheral gear section (42a) and mounted so as to be rotatable about the axis of the sun gear (41), and a second ring gear (43) meshing with the planetary gears (44) through an inner peripheral gear section (43a) which has a different number of teeth from the first ring gear (42) and mounted so as to be rotatable about the axis of the sun gear (41).  The device is configured such that, when the sun gear (41) and the first ring gear (42) are selectively rotated, the second ring gear (43) is driven in both cases.
