PURPOSE:To reduce shock by gradually releasing the tightening by controlling a tightening force adjusting means when tightening of a lock-up clutch is released, while by increasing the release speed when shift-down is carried out by a speed change control means. CONSTITUTION:When shift-down is carried out, a release speed varying means accelerates and the starting-up of the engine revolution by accelerating the release speed, and the shock accompanied with the shift-down is effectively prevented. When shift-down is not carried out, a release speed control means accelerates the tightening release speed of a lock-up clutch, and the shock caused with the selection of operation of the lock-up clutch, in other words, the shock due to the sharp starting-up of the engine revolution is effectively prevented. |
