A position display device (100) is composed of an acquiring section (101), a judging section (102), a display section (103), a recording section (104) and a searching section (105). The acquiring section (101) acquires the present position of a mobile object. The judging section (102) judges whether the present position obtained by the acquiring section (101) is within a prescribed range from a position where a road is indicated in the periphery of the present position in map information. The display section (103) displays the traveling trajectory of the mobile object by superposing the trajectory on the map information when the judging section (102) judges that the present position is not within the prescribed range. The recording section (104) records the traveling trajectory when the judging section (102) judges that the present position is not within the prescribed range from the position where the road is indicated in the map information. The searching section (105) searches a trajectory similar to a route presently taken by the mobile object, from trajectories recorded in the past by the recording section (104).
