COMPOSITION FOR STABILIZING CHLORINE DIOXIDE

Disclosed is a composition for stabilizing chlorine dioxide, which can keep the concentration of chlorine dioxide approximately constant in a substance having chlorine dioxide dissolved therein even when chlorine dioxide is released in the form of a gas from the substance continuously. The composition comprises a combination of a chlorite salt and a pH-adjusting agent, wherein the pH-adjusting agent is an acid having a buffering ability to such an extent that a 5% aqueous solution thereof has a pH value of 2.5 to 6.8 at 25°C or a salt of the acid.
