<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide clear image quality with high gradation linearity, high frequency and low noise, as well as improved reliability. <P>SOLUTION: The organic EL display includes: drive circuits 34R, 34G, 34B; a lower part electrode 30 arranged on the driving circuits 34R, 34G, 34B; an organic EL layer 36 arranged on the lower part electrode 30 in common; and an upper electrode 38 arranged on the organic EL layer 36 are provided at one pixel. The drive circuits 34R, 34G, 34B and the organic EL layer 36 are integrated in the vertical direction through the lower part electrode 30. Luminance of an organic EL display device is controlled by supplying an organic EL flickering signal OELD in which a pulse number modulation signal PNM and a video data signal VD are multiplied to the organic EL layer 36 with voltage supply or current supply.
