<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating device in which any haze and gloss do not change, stable coating is possible even if time elapses, and a coating film without any streaky defects and transverse unevennesses can be obtained easily even for a thixotropic coating liquid blended with a filler. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The coating device includes a reverse coating roll rotating oppositely to the running direction of a coating web-like substrate on the surface of the substrate, and is characterized in that a fountain head or die head for supplying a coating liquid is arranged at the lower part of the reverse coating roll.
