PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unique method for removing ceramic material from cast components for solving the problems on a change in concentration of a leaching material, boiling point, leaching efficiency and chemical degradation of the cast components in a process where the ceramic material is leached from the interior of the cast metallic components. SOLUTION: The removal of ceramic material from the interior of cast metallic components is accomplished in a closed system. A vessel 35 within the system is filled with a chemical leaching fluid 36 that immerses the cast component 30 having the ceramic material 32 and/or ceramic cores 33 therein. The leaching liquid is superheated and boiling is controlled by varying the pressure within the closed system without changing the molecules in the vessel. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
