METHOD FOR PROVIDING COMMUNICATION SERVICE BY UNIVERSAL INTEGRATED CIRCUIT CARD AND MOBILE TERMINAL THEREOF

PURPOSE: A method for providing a communication service and a mobile communication terminal therefor are provided to classify a specific provider of UICC(Universal Integrated Circuit Card) when the provider identification information is not updated. CONSTITUTION: The provider authentication information is obtained from a UICC(S400). The provider of the UICC is classified using the provider authentication information(S421). If the classified provider is a specific provider classified using the reference provider authentication information previously stored in the mobile communication terminal, a normal mode is performed to provide a communication service using the whole functions. If the classified provider is the other provider except the specific provider, the basic mode is performed to provide the communication service using a part of the functions.
