<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine which enables the correct positional detection of a fabric holding frame to be performed at a lower cost. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This sewing machine 1 includes a sewing needle 2, a feeding bar 20, a presser plate 31 which is a non-magnetic body, a tablet sensing section 32 which is arranged on the top surface of the presser plate 31, and a position indicator 24 which is installed above the feeding bar 20.
