PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce information received by a mobile station on a broadcast channel.

SOLUTION: The present invention relates to the base station for generating and transmitting system information to a mobile station, and the communication method of communicating the system information in a communication system including such a base station and the mobile station. The base station generates the system information; categorizes the system information into multiple pieces of system information; multiplexes the categorized multiple pieces of system information into multiple channels or multiple blocks; and transmits the system information on the multiple channels or the multiple blocks. The mobile station receives the system information included in a portion of the multiple channels or the multiple blocks transmitted from the base station.
