PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely conduct making reservations, even when a user unfamiliar to operation operates a recording reservation apparatus. SOLUTION: An apparatus comprises a section 30 for storing reservation information which specifies recording reservation or viewing and listening reservation of a program; a section 40 for issuing a reception command to a program reception section 14, according to reservation information stored in the section for storing reservation information; a section 70 for determining whether the remaining time duration starting from the current time measured by an internal clock 50, up to a scheduled time for starting a reservation object program falls within a predetermined time duration; and a section 80 for registering the recording reservation or viewing and listening reservation, based on the reservation information in preparation if a determination is made that the remaining time duration falls within a predetermined time duration, and storing the reservation information in the section for storing reservation information.
