<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bush cutter which can reduce a force received by an operator from an article, when being hit by an article in the non-working region of a rotary blade, and thereby enables smooth cutting works. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Provided is the bush cutter characterized by disposing an engine rotation sensor 31 for detecting the rotation speed of a crank shaft, a throttle valve 32 for adjusting the quantity of a supplied mixed gas, a throttle valve control motor 33 for controlling the aperture degree of the throttle valve 32, a driver 34 for driving the throttle valve control motor 33, an ignition device 35 including an ignition plug and a high voltage circuit, a throttle aperture degree sensor 36 for detecting the practical aperture degree of the throttle valve 32, and a controller 37 for closing the throttle 32, when it is detected that an acceleration sensor 25 disposed on an operation rod 11 is swung in a prescribed direction, on an engine 14 for driving the rotary blade.
