PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil pump with a pressure regulating mechanism arranged thereon without increasing the sizes of the pressure regulating mechanism and an oil strainer (connecting member) mounting portion. SOLUTION: The oil pump 100 comprises a relief passage 42 for communicating a suction port 12 with a discharge port 13, a valve hole 41 in which a valve 90 is assembled for controlling the opening/closing of the relief passage 42 depending on pressure in the discharge port 13, and a flange portion 44 to which a suction hole 43 communicated with the suction port 13 for oil suction is opened at one end and on which an oil strainer 70 is mounted.
