<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid exciting motor whose motor characteristics can be easily varied through a simple configuration. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The axial air gap-type hybrid exciting motor 1 is so configured that the following is implemented: multiple magnetic poles (15) are annularly disposed in the armature core 11 of a stator 3; and an outer magnetic flux control coil 16a and an inner magnetic flux control coil 16b are placed outside and inside the group of the annularly disposed magnetic poles (15). Increase and decrease in magnetic flux at each magnetic pole (15) of the armature core 11 can be controlled by controlling the direction and value of direct current passed through the outer magnetic flux control coil 16a and the inner magnetic flux control coil 16b.
