摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for modifying heavy crude oil into a high quality crude oil by: softening the heavy crude oil to have a viscosity suitable for transportation by subdivision of the molecular structure of the heavy crude oil, since the origins of unconventional tar sand and heavy crude oil are understood as the result of removal of water-soluble low molecular components of the crude oil and resulting in weight-increasing; and supplying hydrogen, since the heavy crude oil has low content of hydrocarbon, contains much sulfur and nitrogen and shortage of hydrogen, and is inferior to the crude oil in quality. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the method for modifying heavy crude oil by adding an OH catalyst to the heavy crude oil, the OH catalyst is prepared by diluting an O catalyst by a 5% aqueous solution of FOS. The O catalyst is prepared by heat-treating alcohol such as ethyl alcohol, etc., at a specific temperature and then adding 3-5% of the treated liquid to 97-95% of a plasma treated water.
