<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic blackboard apparatus enabling to rapidly transfer and change a plurality of writing planes of the electronic blackboard apparatus, and to carry out a read operation under the condition that a document is attached on the writing plane. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An electronic blackboard comprises: an endless writing sheet to write with a marker thereon, a panel disposed on the back side of a writing plane of the writing sheet; a body holding the panel and the writing sheet; a self-propelled reading device reading an image written on the writing plane of the writing sheet; and an operating means wherein the reading device is transferred in the lateral direction, and the writing sheet is transferred in the longitudinal direction.
