PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a media transport mechanism which can transport a medium grasping stably, and to provide a media processing device provided with the same. SOLUTION: A media processing device has a media storage part, a media drive, a label printer, and a media transport mechanism which can grasp media and can transport them to the media storage part, a media drive, and a label printer. The media transport mechanism is the mechanism in which three grasping lugs 41a, 41b, 41c provided at a transport arm 36 being movable vertically and rotatably are inserted into center holes of media of a disk like, the grasping lugs 41a, 41b, 41c are expanded in the radial direction of center hole and pressed against the inner peripheral plane of the center hole, and which gasps and transports media, a contact 48c of a contact type sensor 48 for detecting the existence of media is arranged on the perpendicular bisector of a segment connecting two grasping lugs 41a, 41c being adjacent during grasping.
