PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet conveying device capable of constantly reliably conveying a narrow and thick paper sheet such as a postcard straight toward an object such as an image carrier of an image forming device. SOLUTION: The paper sheet conveying device comprises upstream side roller pairs 30 for nipping and conveying a postcard P1 and resist roller pairs 40 which are arranged immediately on the downstream side of the upstream side roller pairs while the installation position is set so that a fore end of the postcard P1 reaches while the conveying state of the postcard P1 by the upstream side roller pairs 30 is continued (in other words, the distance to the upstream side roller pairs 30 is smaller than the longitudinal dimension (the first length) of the postcard P1). The upstream side roller pairs 30 are set to be shorter than the width (the second length) of the postcard P1 while the resist roller pairs 40 are set to be longer than the width of the postcard P1.
