<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rope vibration control device of an elevator capable of effectively suppressing resonance of a long object without coming into contact with the long object. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this vibration control device of the elevator installed with the long object 5 in a hoistway, vibration suppressing means for suppressing vibration of the long object 5 without coming into contact with the long object 5 according to a seismic signal, such as a blower 12a1 and electromagnet 12a2, are provided. By installing the vibration suppression means at a fastener or an intermediate beam at different positions in the hoistway, vibration control is performed at each position suitable for a natural frequency of the long object 5 to effectively suppress resonance.
