PURPOSE: A broadcasting receiver and a service information processing method capable of receiving cable broadcast are provided to accurately supply a caption and grade information received to an in-band and OOB to a user when channel conversion. CONSTITUTION: A broadcasting receiver and a service information processing method capable of receiving cable broadcast include a decoding unit, an OOB service information parsing unit(809), an in-band service information parsing unit(807) and a caption information processing unit. The decoding unit displays the program of the specific channel received to the in-band. The OOB service information parsing unit stores service information received to the out-of-band. The -band service information parsing unit extracts caption information of the corresponding information.
