<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the tolerance of cutting in barrel polishing by chamfering when a wide cylindrical workpiece is cut into a looped shape with a predetermined width. Ž<P>SOLUTION: To cut a workpiece W into a looped shape, this cutting device holds and cuts in the workpiece W by a set of rotary blades comprising a rotary blade 52 as an inner blade and a rotary blade 62 as an outer blade and also holds and cuts in the workpiece W from the reverse side on the same circumference by the set of rotary blades comprising a rotary blade 54 as an inner blade and the rotary blade 64 and the rotary blade 62 as an outer blade by using a rotary blade unit 50 having the rotary blades 52, 54 serving as the outer blades pressed against the workpiece W from the inner peripheral side and the a rotary blade unit 60 having the rotary blades 62, 64 pressed against the workpiece W from the outer peripheral surface. Since the workpiece is broken generally at the center in the thickness direction, the workpiece is chamfered during the cutting, and the tolerance of cutting during the barrel polishing is reduced.
