PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly indicate an area of which map data is to be updated in a navigation apparatus which partially updates map data. SOLUTION: The navigation apparatus displays a map on a display monitor on the basis of map data, sets an area of which map data is to be updated, and displays an area mark 30 indicating the area to be updated on the map.
