<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a down pipe connection structure capable of suppressing the disengagement of a down pipe from a down pipe joint, reducing restriction on installation, and preventing harmful effects from occurring after installation by joining the down pipe to the down pipe joint with a sufficient joining strength without using an adhesive agent. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The down pipe joint 8 is interposed in the joint section 5 between an upstream side down pipe 1 and a downstream side down pipe 2 which are arranged continuously with each other in the vertical direction. A projection 9 is disposed on the outer surface of the lower end section 3 of the upstream side down pipe. A recess 12 corresponding to the projection is formed in the inner surface of the upper section 6 of the down pipe joint. The upstream side down pipe is joined to the down pipe joint on the upper inner side of the down pipe joint by a frictional resistance due to the engagement of the projection with the recess.
