PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery type portable power tool securing easy holding, having good operability, and enabling an operator to be hardly fatigued. SOLUTION: The portable power tool includes a drive part 3 arranged at a rear part and storing a motor 2, a head part 5 being arranged at a front part, storing a transmission device 36, and having a machining part 4 for machining a workpiece, and a holding part 7 for storing a transmission shaft 6 arranged between the drive part 3 and the head part 5 and transmitting the drive force of the motor 2 to the machining part 4. The portable power tool further has a battery 18 which feeds current to the motor 2, and the battery 18 is arranged adjacently below the drive part 3 where the motor 2 is stored.
