METHOD OF PREPARING EDIBLE CALCIUM OXIDE POWDER

PURPOSE: A method for producing edible calcium oxide is provided for use in extending shelf life of foods, sterilization of acid soil, and purification of waste water. CONSTITUTION: A method for producing edible calcium oxide comprises the following steps of: sintering shellfish at the temperature of 1,200°C for 30 minutes; leaving to cool the sintered shellfish in humid air for 24 hours; precipitating the shellfish powder to remove impurities, and refining the shellfish powder; and placing the refined calcium oxide powder in an airtight container and sintering at the temperature of 1,000°C for 30 minutes or longer.
