<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine reduced in weight and a straddle-type vehicle including the engine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The engine 20 includes a crankcase 22, a crankshaft 21, a body cylinder 24, a head cylinder 25, a piston 30, a piston ring 31 and a cylinder fixing bolt 27. The piston ring 31 is arranged on an outer peripheral surface of the piston 30. One end portion of the cylinder fixing bolt 27 extends toward the head cylinder 25 and another end portion of the cylinder fixing bolt 27 extends toward the crankcase 22. The cylinder fixing bolt 27 connects the head cylinder 25, the body cylinder 24 and the crankcase 22 to one another. A lower section 26f of the body cylinder 24 is located within the crankcase 22.
