334,077. Stettiner Chamotte-Fabrik. Akt.-Ges. vorm. Didier. Nov. 23, 1928, [Convention date]. Coke ovens.-Doors hinged at their top edges and open by swinging upwards are operated by a pulling member acting in a direction tangential to the arc made by the free edge of the door. The door 2 of the retort 1 is fastened in its closed position by a hook 8 and pin 9. To open, an electromotor 17 is set in motion, driving a winch 18 to wind up the cable 14, pulling the carriage 15 up the arc-shaped guideway 20 on the coke-quenching truck 13 and pulling the hook 16, engaging in the shackle 11 on the free edge of the door. A link 12 connected to the hook 8 and shackle 11 releases the fastening before the door is swung upwards. |
