PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is capable of reducing unnecessary radiation (interference electric field intensity) in printing and securing the S/N ratio of an analog sensor mounted on a carriage, with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: the carriage 2 having a recording head for discharging ink, to form an image on a medium to be recorded and the analog sensor 11; an apparatus main body (controller substrate 13) having a voltage selecting means 13a for selecting one of a first voltage (5V) and a second voltage (3.3V), according to the operation mode of the image forming apparatus; and an FFC 14 having one line L2 for supplying a signal or a drive electric power from the apparatus main body to the carriage 2 at the voltage selected by the voltage selecting means 13a. When the signal or drive electric power of the first voltage is supplied to the carriage 2, the signal and/or drive electric power based on the signal or drive electric power is supplied to the analog sensor 11 and when the drive electric power of the second voltage is supplied, the drive electric power is supplied to the recording head.
