<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device which creates a label where the length of a margin set in the front and rear parts of printing information printed on the label is shortened as much as possible or eliminated, when a pasteboard is peeled to create the label without the pasteboard, while printing on the base material of a printing tape. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the printing device, when it is judged that "marginless" is set (YES in step S1), the printing tape supplied from a tape cassette is driven in a reverse direction, to be reversely supplied by a length corresponding to the distance L between printing heads from a cutter, so that the top end of the base material of the printing tape passes through the guide part of the tape cassette to the upstream side, to reach the position of the printing head (step S2). Then, the printing tape is driven in a forward direction, to print on the base material by the printing head, but the top end of the base material can pass through the guide part, because the pasteboard is guided by the guide part, so that printing of a marginless label can be performed (steps S3 and S4).
