<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the timing setting of a test scenario is difficult due to any effect on an operation timing due to test relevant processing, and that a test time becomes long in performing the test of a programmable display unit. <P>SOLUTION: An automatic test device 1 includes a test procedure execution engine part 12 for performing the automatic test of a picture program 23 of a programmable display unit 2 by reading a test scenario 11 in which the operation procedure of the programmable display unit 2 and a procedure for confirming the response display state and the timing are written. The display unit 2 is configured of a test module part 22 for transferring operation instructions or change notification data for confirming the response display state with the engine part 12; and a display unit body software part 21. The display unit 2 monitors and operates a control object 3.
