<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide "a driving assistant system" suitably assisting a driver by discriminating a coupled article of a vehicle, and an obstacle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A left sensor 102-1 and a right sensor 102-2 detect an object existing in a periphery of one's own vehicle. A coupled article determination part 104 determines whether the object is the coupled article of one's own vehicle, based on variation of distances of the left sensor 102-1 and the right sensor 102-2 and the object detected by the left sensor 102-1 and the right sensor 102-2 and steering angle information. An output control part 108 performs output of sound/voice from a speaker 110 and image display on a monitor 112 and performs a notice that the obstacle exists when the object is not the article coupled to one's own vehicle.
