METHOD AND DEVICE FOR OPERATION MANAGEMENT OF INFORMATION-PROCESSING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve energy saving operation of an information-processing system by reducing total power consumption of information-processing devices and power supply/cooling facilities.

SOLUTION: The information-processing system 10 includes the information-processing devices 201to 20n, the power supply facilities 401to 40u, cooling facilities 501to 50vand an operations management device 60. The operations management device 60 is connected to the devices 201to 20nand the facilities 40140u, and 501to 50vand includes layout information constituted of locations and operating information 61 of the devices 201to 20nand locations and environmental information 62 of the facilities 401to 40u, and 501to 50v. Also, the operations management device 60 obtains the power consumption of the devices 201to 20n, the power supply loss of the power supply facilities 401to 40uand the cooling power of the cooling facilities 501to 50vby using the layout information (63 and 64), and then allocates the workloads 301to 30mto the devices 201to 20nso as to reduce the total sum of power consumption, supply loss and cooling power (65).
