METHOD FOR PRODUCING POROUS FILM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a porous film having a plurality of pores the diameters of which increase in one direction.

SOLUTION: A casting solution is obtained by dissolving a hydrophobic organic polymer in a solvent and the solution is cast onto a support 11 to form a cast film 20. The support 11 is left to stand as inclined so as to gradually increase the thickness of the cast film 20 in one direction A. Dew condensation is induced on the exposed surface of the cast film 20 to form and grow water drops. Subsequently, the solvent is vaporized and the cast film 20 is dried. The inclinationθof the support 11 is held until the cast film 20 loses the fluidity. The obtained porous film 10 has a plurality of pores 12 with diameters increasing in one direction.
