<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparency measurement device which can limit the receipt of light reflected on the skin surface when light diffuses in the skin near an irradiation site. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The transparency measurement device 10 includes: a chassis 11 having an opening section 11b on a bottom aspect 11a which contains a halogen lamp 12; a light irradiation means to irradiate the surface of skin 1 with light from the halogen lamp 12 via the opening section 11b; a light receiving means to receive light diffused in the skin 1 via 11b, the light which is radiated from a different site from one which is irradiated with the light on the surface of the skin 1; and a blocking plate 17 to block the light reflected on the surface of the skin 1. A slit 18 is created between the blocking plate 17 and the circumference of the opening section 11b to slantingly irradiate the surface of the skin 1 with the light from the halogen lamp 12.
