<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide laser scanning optical equipment and an image forming apparatus capable of easily adjusting a partial magnification by a simple mechanism. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the laser scanning optical equipment, scanning on an image carrier is carried out by a laser beam modulated on the basis of image data. A mirror unit 10 having a plurality of mirrors 21, 22 turning around the laser beam on a plane in a sub scanning direction Z substantially in parallel with an incident direction is arranged between a polygon mirror 6 and the image carrier. A partial magnification adjusting means for carrying out rotative adjustment using a rotary shaft 30 perpendicular to a main scanning plane E of the laser beam as a supporting point is provided in the mirror unit 10, and unequal scanning line lengths A', B' are adjusted into equal scanning line lengths A, B.
