<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a line with intermediate density from being generated between a plurality of graphic elements when the adjacent sections of the plurality of graphic elements have intermediate density in converting input data as the vector data of the plurality of graphic elements into output data as run length data. <P>SOLUTION: In a data conversion device, in converting input data including graphic elements 83 and 86 adjacent to a direction vertical to a unit region 800 as the unit of run length generation into run length data, when the sum of intermediate density "0.5" of first edge run length 861 and intermediate density "0.5" of the second edge run length 832 overlapped with each other is equal to or more than graphic density "1", graphic density "1" is applied to the section overlapped with both the first edge run length 861 and the second edge run length 832.
